So many of my clients at this point have no idea what has happened in my life and why I am behind on some work or haven’t emailed a new client wanting information back immediately,  I love to be on top of things!!!     However, recently life has been a little crazy for us!!! …. About a month ago  my daughter had an accident with a knife and her eye.   To make a long story short, she wanted me to open  a new game, i said “no” , she decided to sneak up the stairs and open it herself, with one of the sharpest knifes in our kitchen.   Moments later I hear her crying, she come down stairs holding her eye, I try to make sense of what I am seeing by asking her what happened, she says I got the knife to open the game…. my heart just sunk , I was heart broken at that moment,  well we rush to the ER, she has severely cut her globe (eye ball) in about 8mm under the iris down towards her nose.  The mboro ER sent us by ambulance to Vanderbilt Children hospital where they did her globe repair that night January 6th 2010 at about 10pm.  As a family that week we were on a roller coaster with having to put drops in her eyes every 4 hours to prevent infection, along with a couple trips back to the Vandy Eye Institute for check ups.  Finding out information about our daughters possible sight in the eye was very slim along with other major complications that she may face now in her life.  I have cried often as a mother fearing for the challenges she will face now, however we have to be realistic as in this is nothing compared to what some parents are facing…. however nonetheless its scary!  She didn’t open here eyes for an entire week, that was like having a very picky newborn!!!  Needless to say she did not want drops in her eyes, so 4 times a day we had to wrestle her down and open that poor eye and put 3 sets of drops in to prevent infection, one to dilate, and another to reduce swelling……… Its been a very long battle in fact if you asked me how long it seems since the accident I would say 1  year and its only been a month.   We have been seeing the Eye Retina specialist at Vanderbilt however have decided before we go through an exploratory surgery we are going to get a second opinion from a eye specialist in Birmingham AL.   We take this trip tomorrow Monday Feb 8th.   We have found out that with the eye you have to take everything in stages, being most important to finally restoring sight, is she seeing out of her eye now???? we are not for sure she is a very resistant 4 year old at this point and that makes everything even more complicated.   So in order for the Drs to get a good look at what is now going on in here eye they have to sedate her, this is why we are going tomorrow to see what is actually going on in her eye now that the eye is starting to repair.

I just wanted to update any possible future clients that I am still taking appointments however due to our current situation I may not be able to get right back with you by email.  However, Please understand that making a living at my job has not changed one bit …… my appointment times have changed a little so that I can care for my daughter 100% when my husband is not able but I am very interested in being your photographer!!  To be honest, I am currently taking more time than normal to get sessions edited due to all of our trips out of town and state …a lot of time that is devoted completely to caring for Anna (my daughter) and my grandmother (whom had a hip repair from a car accident in December 2009) who is living with us now as well.  I have been taking care of both of them for a month now and it has slowed work time down a lot!!! Then all of the kids decided about two  weeks ago to get sick!   Tomorrow our trip may change my entire week, and I am not taking any appointments unless they are newborn right now until the last week of February.   Thanks for listening to what is going on and we would appreciate your prayers!

Thanks for your time look forward to seeing you soon!

This one is obviously prior to the accident as I pray one day her eye heals back to its original look and strength.
